Il y a 45 jours, The Easton Ellises lançaient une campagne de financement internet de type « fan funding », utilisant PayPal afin d’amasser les fonds nécessaires pour la production de disques vinyles célébrant la sortie de leur 10^e single Dance it, Dance all. Communiqué de presse No.1

Il y a 15 jours, la campagne se terminait avec 105% des fonds nécessaires à l’impression de 300 disques vinyles avec pochettes. Plus de 30 remix de Dance it, Dance all ont été soumis par des artistes de partout dans le monde afin de faire partie de cet album. Seulement six ont été choisis. Communiqué de presse No.2

Il y a trois jours, The Easton Ellises étaient officiellement sélectionnés pour le lancement exclusif de PayPal Here™ au Canada. Le 17 mai, les invités présents au lancement se verront offrir la possibilité d’acheter des disques vinyles et autres objets promotionnels directement du groupe avec leur carte de crédit. Forty-five days ago The Easton Ellises launched an internet fan funding campaign powered by PayPal to raise the funds necessary for the production of vinyl records to celebrate the release of their 10th single Dance it, Dance all. Press release #1


Fifteen days ago, they concluded the campaign with 105% of the funds necessary to press 300 vinyl records and jackets. Over thirty Dance it, Dance all remixes from artists coming from all over the world were submitted for inclusion on this record. Only 6 were selected. Press release #2


Three days ago, the Easton Ellises were officially selected for the exclusive launch of PayPal Here™ in Canada.  On May 17th, PayPal Here will enable  invitees to purchase vinyl records and merchandise directly form the band with their credit card or PayPal account.  PayPal Here™ is a paradigm shift for DIY artists, and The Easton Ellises is the first band in Canada to benefit from this new mobile payments technology.

The Easton Ellises’ "crowdfunding" campaign successful!

Montreal, May 10, 2012

On April 1 of this year, The Easton Ellises launched a 30 day internet fundraising campaign- aka "crowdfunding".  Thanks to their engaged fan base they managed to raise 105% of the money needed for the production of t-shirts, CDs and vinyl records.

60 days ago, they put all the “Dance it, Dance all” parts (everything you need to make a remix) up on the web hoping to find some artists willing to remix it.  Over thirty remixers from all around the globe have answered the call – their remixes reflect the musical diversity of all these different cultures.

The best six remixes are going to be on pressed on the vinyl record, which will highlight the release of the 10th single from the band.  The Easton Ellises are currently preparing for the official Dance it Dance all launch party which will take place on May 17th in an undisclosed location on Montreal's infamous plateau.  Reminiscent of  “rave” parties of a few years ago,  the location will be revealed to those invited only 24 hours in advance.

Fan Funding : The ticking clock

With only 7 days left on the clock, this week is crucial. We have collected $2700 so far but still need a little more to cover the costs of making 300 vinyl records. iPod on shuffle, cold beers in the fridge, tonight we are internet squeegee-ing!

Quality!  More than two dozen so far.   We have all ready received stuff from South Africa, Turkey, Israel, UK, USA, Mexico, Ecuador even Iran!  This is proof that music has no borders!  Henry says it better...

Vous avez probablement remarqué sur nos blogs récents sur Facebook et twitter que notre projet devient international! On a reçu des remix d'Algérie, d'Allemagne, d'Afrique du Sud, de Mozambique, d'Espagne, de Turquie, du Portugual, des États-Unis, de Finlande, etc... Et plus récemment d'Israël! C'est très excitant d'ainsi unifier des DJs producteurs de partout à travers le monde pour le remix de notre chanson "Dance it, Dance All". Montreal band The Easton Ellises to launch their next single "Dance it Dance all" as a free download through a non-profit organization.

The band The Easton Ellises, formed in 2010. They blossomed from the Stereomovers known for its tours in Europe and Asia at the turn of the millennium,  and for its shows in major Montreal events such as the MEG and the Black & Blue Festival.

The Easton Ellises’ music is an energetic rock and electronic hybrid, sometimes reaching the frontiers of house and dubstep . Offering a unique sound, they present innovative music which has already sparked interest all over the world.

On May 17th , 2012 The Easton Ellises will launch their 10th single entitled “Dance it, Dance all”.  It will be governed by a “Creative Commons” license. Contrary to traditional copyright, fans are encouraged to download. share and use the music freely for non-commercial purposes.

The Easton Ellises are using a type of fund-raising recently made possible through the internet: “crowdfunding”. Fans are invited to participate in the production of 12” Vinyl records. By making a financial contribution to the project, an exclusive access to The Easton Ellises’ unreleased material is granted.

The Ellises Easton put together a producer pack for remixers and shared the stems online on March 15th 2012. The response to this initiative has exceeded all expectations so that the best remixes coming from all around the world will accompany the release of the single. Wardian Remix : From Malaga Spain, this track is a combination of breaks and electro with synths reminding us of the excellent Icelandic band GusGus.

Juan Pablo Moran Remix : From Equador's capital Quito, this techno version experiments with hypnotic and atmospheric sounds.  Could easily find its way on a Global Underground series.

Violet strikes back !

You might remember Violet from the Ersatz and Black Love remixes he already produced.  Here's his latest mutant.

Violet and the Mutants Remix : Masterfully switching between electro dub step this remix from Portugal is a punch in the face!  This will be the soundtrack of many speeding tickets.  SOLID!

Cher Sherlock, voici le Supernova!

Le lancement de notre 10e single "Dance it, Dance all" approche à grands pas et pour en agrémenter le "release", nous avons proposé à plusieurs DJs et producteurs de partout à travers le monde de mettre la main à la pâte et de faire un remix. Pour l'un d'eux, Daniel du groupe Dear Sherlock (aka Violet and the Mutants), nous avons conclu de faire un remix d'une de leur chanson en retour. Depuis environ 2 semaines, nous travaillons ardument à l'élaboration de ce remix de leur chanson Supernova. Ce sera très "tech-house" et rythmé et mélodique!
